Description of essential tasks:
The employee is responsible for placing and finishing concrete slabs, including screeding, rodding, bull floating, edging, darbying, setting forms, and operating power trowel machines.
Pre-employment requirements:
Employees must pass a drug test before performing any work, have a valid driver’s license, and have reliable transportation. They must also wear a hard hat, rubber boots, work boots, gloves, a safety vest, and glasses. They must also have personal finishing tools like a mag float, trowel, edger, and basic carpentry tools.
Duties relating to the finisher will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Setting screeds, rodding, mucking, grading, shaping, smoothing, and finishing freshly poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, curbs, steps, stairways, or any other concrete surface that requires finishing.
- Use hand tools, including floats, trowels, screeds, and straight edges.
- A grinder, chisel, hammer, or jackhammer can remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces.
- Patching holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound to seal joints and cracks, molding expansion joints and edges.
- Using edging tools, jointers, and straight edges.
- Cutting joints with concrete saws for the control of cracks.
- Apply curing compounds, penetrating sealer, and primer protective coatings to concrete floors, walls, etc.
- Clean up as required.
Duties relating to carpentry are not required, but beneficial will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Measuring, cutting, and seating of forms.
- Setting of barrier walls, concrete curbs, gutters, and sidewalk forms.
Compensation package:
- We start all employees at $22/HR and will pay accordingly upon experience and mutual agreement.
- Overtime any hours over 8 per day
- 100% reimbursed set travel pay in both directions
- $80 per diem per day if staying out of town
- We pay for your hotel 100%
